The first-ever head coach of the Las Vegas Legends, Greg Howes, was born and raised in Tacoma, Wash., and has spent most of his life and career in the upper Northwest. He was drafted by the Seattle Sounders after playing soccer at Oregon State University.
Howes has played outdoor soccer for the Portland Timbers and Rochester Rhinos and indoor soccer for Tacoma Stars and Milwaukee Wave, where he scored the goal that won the Wave’s the championship title in 2011.
Throughout the past decade, Howes has become one of the most highly decorated players in the sport. He has earned the League’s Most Valuable Player award three times, is an eight-time first team selection and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Milwaukee Wave. His team honors include six league championships, four with the Milwaukee Wave as a player and one with the Tacoma Stars as coach.
Howes is the proud owner of a Newfoundland named Shack and an American Eskimo named YD. He enjoys nature while riding his motorcycle around the country.
