May 24 Superstars of Mexico vs Las Vegas Legends

The Las Vegas Legends take on Marco Fabian De La Mora and the Superstars of Mexico May 24, 2013 at the Orleans Arena. This showcase game will host some of the best players in Mexico today. Joining Marco Fabian from Club Chivas will be: Jorge “Chaton” Enriquez, Patricio “Pato” Araujo, Erick “El Cubo” Torres, and Tono Rodriguez, and many others.

As the 2012-2013 Southwestern Division Champions, the Las Vegas Legends are honored and excited to be among true superstars of soccer. “We are looking forward to sharing our home field with this squad” says Legends Captain, Enrique “Qeeks” Tovar. LUNA GOLDEN GOAL: Chiky’s OT strike sends San Diego into the PASL championship 6-5 over Las Vegas

SAN DIEGO–Chiky Luna’s scissor kick golden goal 1:20 into sudden death overtime gave the San Diego Sockers a heart-stopping 6-5 victory over the Las Vegas Legends at the Valley View Casino Center, advancing the Sockers to the PASL Ron Newman Cup championship game. San Diego will face the Detroit Waza Flo in the championship game for the second straight season, after Detroit also escaped the semi-final with a 6-5 OT win over Rio Grande Valley. A PASL playoff-record crowd of 4,278 saw Luna slide down at the right edge of the crease, converting a Diego Rovira pass into the semi-final winning score.

Legends complete series sweep, advance to PASL playoff semis

When searching for the best place to host a bachelor party, Tijuana, Mexico, is a contender for the crown, but Las Vegas is the undisputed champion.

The same can be said of the cities’ Professional Arena Soccer League playoff series.

The expansion Las Vegas Legends cruised past the Mexico Toros 10-4 on Sunday at Orleans Arena to finish a two-game sweep of their PASL Ron Newman Cup quarterfinal series.

Opening Round Playoff Plans Announced

Opening Round Playoff Plans Announced: each division in the PASL-Pro will have a two-game opening playoff round, home-and-away. If the two teams split the games, a 15-minute mini-game will follow the second game and determine the winner.

In the Southwestern Division, Las Vegas Legends will play Toros Mexico. In the Pacific Division, the San Diego Sockers will be facing either Turlock Express or Tacoma Stars in the opening round depending on their final results.

On 2/23, both opening games (LV/MEX, TUR-TAC/SD) will be played at the Valley View Casino Center, with LV/MEX at 3:30 and TUR-TAC/SD at 7pm.

On 2/24, the second legs will be played at the Orleans Arena – Las Vegas, again MEX/LV at 4:00 and TUR-TAC/SD at 7pm. The winners advance to the The Ron Newman Cup semi-finals on March 10th at the VVCC.

Nevadan at Work: ‘Professor’ stresses goals on soccer field and life

When Emmanuel Ayim offers a soccer tip or life advice to his fellow players on the Las Vegas Legends professional soccer team, they listen intently. The 33-year-old university academic adviser and pro soccer player is affectionately known as “The Professor” on the Legends team.

Ayim is actually Dr. Ayim, an academic adviser at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas who earned his doctorate in sports education leadership in 2009.
